Belarusian government delegation visits Nigeria

On June 24, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov, as part of a government delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich, visited the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

A solemn ceremony was held to transfer Belarusian agricultural machinery and equipment to the Nigerian Side as part of the implementation of the Roadmap for strengthening cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security for 2024-2029.

On the Nigerian Side, the event was attended by Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Federal Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari, as well as leading ministers and governors of several states.

The President of Nigeria received a welcome message from President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko inviting him to visit Minsk at the head of the Nigerian delegation.

The Sides discussed the current state and further steps to implement the Roadmap and expressed mutual interest in deepening partnership in the agricultural sector.
