About the meetings of Ambassador V. Bril during his visit to Douala (Cameroon)
22.02.2022On February 21, 2022, Ambassador of Belarus to Nigeria with concurrent accreditation to Cameroon V.Bril met the Head of Douala branch office of the Ministry of External Relations of Cameroon Gervais Bindzi-Edzimbi.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current status and prospects for development of Belarusian-Cameroonian relations, including the issue of Cameroon's support for Belarus' candidature in the upcoming elections to the International Telecommunications Union Council. They also discussed the possibility of organizing a visit to Belarus of the Minister of External Relations of Cameroon and signing an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation.
On February 22, 2022, Ambassador V.Bril met the governor of the Littoral Region of Cameroon Samuel Diboua.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospective areas of cooperation between Belarus and Cameroon, including cooperation in the fields of agriculture and education, supply of Belarusian municipal vehicles to the region.
Ambassador V.Bril also met the rector of the University of Douala, Professor Magloire Ondoa.
During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of education, as well as prospects for inter-university interaction.
In addition, Ambassador V.Bril met the President of the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts Christophe Eken.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects for cooperation between the chambers of commerce of Belarus and Cameroon. The Belarusian side recalled the previously transmitted draft agreement on cooperation between both chambers. The Ambassador of Belarus extended invitations to C.Eken and Cameroonian business circles to visit the 32nd International Specialized Exhibition BELAGRO-2022 (Minsk, June 2022), as well as the 3rd Belarusian-African Economic Forum (Cairo, May 2022).
